What happened
The employee was working at McNeil Press #10 making diaphragms. The employee stated that they use a scalpel to trim the center portion of the diaphragm before placing the part into a clicker to punch out the rest of the excess rubber on the part being produced. The employee stated while using the scalpel they placed too much pressure on the scalpel causing it to slip and the scalpel made contact with and lacerated the employees left thumb.
