The next day the employee came back into work at [REDACTED] with their left eye being swollen red and irritated. The employee approached their Supervisor about getting a new welding helmet and when the Supervisor inquired as to why the employee showed the Supervisor their eye. The employee appeared to be exhibiting symptoms of a Flash Burn. The Supervisor looked over the employees welding helmet and notice that the lenses in the hood were pitted. In addition the helmet was compared to a backup helmet. Both helmets are auto-darkening and have settings to control the darkening.
