Before the incident
We were trying to obtain an IV in a pt. The IV blew and I also had labs in the am so I was just going to collect the blood then. Tried to hand the lab tube to the other nurse and got poked.
What happened
A nurse poked the pt the vein blew I tried to hand over a lab tube to collect the blood so I did not have to poke the baby again. When handing it over the other nurse was in the process of retracting the needle and I got poked.
