Before the incident
A worker was welding on an aluminum tank in supplied air.
What happened
A worker was backing up to straighten a weld lead in the work area and tripped over a skid that was in the aisle that had a long metal sheet job on it. The worker backed into a skid and fell on the left elbow receiving a cut on the left elbow and a hit on the hip.
Injury or illness
Left elbow contusion and laceration along with left hip contusion. First aid treatment was initially administered inhouse for the cut on the elbow. Worker later sought treatment at occupational medicine provider. Worker was written off work for a day and received restrictions as well as given a brace to wear and an orthopedic referral.
