On [REDACTED] a Furnace [REDACTED] was assisting with the cullet elevator repair when the belt was pulled forward quickly causing the spoke to spin and smash into their left thumb They left and selfapplied first aid and reported the incident to Safety The thumb is swollen and the skin is broken on the outside edge of the thumb near the second knuckle Safety recommended ice to reduce the swelling Employee is going to monitor the injury overnight and we will assess the injury further in the morning
