Before the incident
Rigging 60 inch Steel Coil
What happened
Crane operator received 2 inch laceration across the top of their left thigh just above the knee. Laceration occured when employee leaned their left leg onto the side wall of a 60 inch coil they were rigging (reaching up and attaching nylon sling to the yoke). See attached photos. EE was examined and treated at [REDACTED] ER 3 sutures to close laceration and released to return to work next day. [REDACTED] 5 [REDACTED] update - after obtaining and reviewing new video footage of incident laceration was received when EE kneeled down to floor leaning on coil edge with his left leg and then reaching into ID with his left arm and hand to retrieve sling from ID (See video).
