Changing a MLG tire. Slipped while applying preload torque to MLG bearing.

At approximately [REDACTED] while performing the removal and installation of the #1 MLG tire of aircraft [REDACTED] - the technician slipped while applying the preload torque to the MLG tire bearing. This task has a high torque value of 500-600 ft-lbs. Requires a lot of leverage and can be difficult to achieve. It was reported that the technician was working by themself when the incident occurred. This task can be done by one person but usually we have another tech to assist when spinning the tire. After the technician slipped he immediately called the Lead over the radio to inform him of what happened and ask for assistance. After which the technician reported a popping clicking sound in his right knee and left to seek medical attention.
