Before the incident
The employee was removing masking from underneath a plastic sheet while the sheet was suspended by suction cups at the Take-Off area of [REDACTED].
What happened
During the cutting process the sheet had been cut slightly longer than usual due to ongoing saw maintenance. Because of the increased length one end of the sheet was not fully supported by the suction cups. As masking was being pulled off from underneath the suspended sheet the sheet unexpectedly lost suction and fell striking [REDACTED]’s arm with significant force.
Injury or illness
Fracture (broken arm) after being struck by a falling sheet.
