Stepping off conveyor

An employee on foot was trying to communicate with a fellow forklift diver that was across the out-feed pallet conveyor in the warehouse. They had trouble communicating so the employee on foot decided to walk across the conveyor the employee took several steps on the conveyor and decided to come down off the conveyor. As the employee stepped down off the conveyor he placed his left foot down onto the yellow angle iron that was on the floor. Employee states that he did not see yellow angle iron when he stepped off the conveyor. When the employee begins to move forward with his right foot it was then when the employee rolled his left ankle causing a break in his ankle. The employee fell to the floor in severe pain. The fellow forklift driver then rendered aid to the fallen employee
