Removing nuts in stud with hydraulic wrench to remove a valve.

An employee and crew were tasked with removing valves from [REDACTED] Reactor 1. The employee was utilizing a pneumatic impact gun to remove the nuts from the studs holding the valve in position. As he began to remove the second nut it became jammed and would not release. In attempt to release the nut the employee retightened and loosened the nut up and down resulting in the stud unthreading downward. The employees right hand became pinched between the impact gun and the flange face resulting in a injury to the right pinky finger.
