What happened
At approximately [REDACTED] [REDACTED] a locomotive operator (1212 loco) was traveling East on 48 track from the west end. The Point Lead was on the front of the locomotive displaying hand signals. The conditions were snowy and dark and visual of the hand signals was poor between the Operator and Lead. The point lead was signaling to slow down and the operator failed to observe the signals. As the Point Lead realized the train was not slowing down the Point Lead hopped off prior to impact (unharmed). This resulted in colliding with the cars. The Operator was flung from the seat into the control panel where he received a laceration above his left eye and bruised left thigh. No damage to locomotive.
