Before the incident
priming a 3yd Side Loader with 1 2 piece metal lids so it could be painted.
What happened
The employee just finished priming the backside of a 3yd Side Loader with ½ piece metal lids that were in the open position. The employee then walked to the front of the 3yd SL and placed his left hand onto the top right corner of the container and started pushing it forward to the painting section. During that process of pushing the container forward the ½ piece metal lid came down into the closed position causing a caught between crushing injury resulting in two fractures of his middle and ring finger on the left hand.
