What happened
A buildings and grounds team member was attempting to replace a light fixture in the [REDACTED] packaging area. The team member was working from a fixed stair platform. As they scraped the caulk from the ceiling where the fixture was attached the fixture slipped and the team member caught it to prevent it from falling to the ground. This action resulted in a right thumb laceration due to contact with the metal edge inside the plastic housing. The team member was performing the work alone was not wearing gloves and did not perform a risk prediction prior to starting the task.
