Before the incident
While handling hot bread pans lids in the bread oven area employee picked up a pan lid not realizing their heat protective mitt was not properly covering their hand as the EE felt the heat from the pan so the employee shoved the pan lid downward and backward in irregular motion slinging their left arm back to separate from the heat this caused pressure on the lower thumb muscle where it connects to the left forearm and led to a strain in the left forearm.
