Employee was working in the shop at the table fabricating a new part for the stackers employee had finished drilling out the holes to attach a belt cloth type material to a piece of metal. Upon completion was fitting the bolt through the pre drilled holes when suddenly a piece of the debris from the material went from behind the employees safety glasses eyewear. This resulted in the debris becoming wedged in the employees eye after blinking to remove the debris.
