What happened
While removing a forklift battery from the unit using the dedicated hoist the employee improperly attempted to control the suspended battery by placing their left hand on the battery corner in proximity to the forklift frame. In doing so the battery shifted slightly pinching the employees left middle finger between the battery and forklift body.
