Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to possible electric shocks, burns, bruises, and/or lacerations: a.)M/V BLUE WAVE: There were two ground fault circuit interrupter receptacles in the galley dining area, and two in the men's restroom by the laundry room, that would not trip when tested with an A.W. Sperry Instruments tester. Note: Among various feasible and economical methods of abatement, one would be to replace the defective receptacles and routinely test them for proper operation.
