Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were causing or likely to
cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
a)  On or about 07-25-00 at 14404 Hwy. 281, San Antonio, TX an employee
was observed working
from an elevated work platform. The employer failed to ensure that the
work platform was secured to the forks
of the lifting device, thus exposing the employee to a fall hazard.
b)  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is use a
manufactured approved personnel lifting carriage and secure the carriage
to the lifting device.
