a. Main building electric freight elevator, on or about 11/20/2003: The
electric freight elevator in which the employees ride to transfer material
from
floor to floor was not equipped with a front cab door or gate to prevent
employees from being caught between the hoistway wall and the elevator car
platform.
Abatement note: One feasible abatement method is to install an interlocked
door or gate at each entrance of the elevator car as required by the ANSI
standard for existing elevator: ANSI 17.3-1986 3.4.2
Abatement certification must be submitted for this citation.
