General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of working on or around an unsafe payloader. Basement Sand Molding Muller: The employer failed to safely maintain the propane powered internal combustion engine on the payloader used to handle sand. The engine ran very rough and emitted high exhaust emissions. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is: Repair or rebuild the payloader engine to bring it into safe operating condition. Develop and implement a regular preventive maintenance schedule for the payloader to include scheduled tuneups.
