Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to injuries by vehicular traffic in and out of the mall plaza where they were in the process of dismantling a gasoline station: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide barricades to direct vehicular traffic away from the workers. CORNER OF THORNDIKE AND PARK STS, PALMER, MA: EMPLOYEES ENGAGED IN DISMANTLING A GASOLINE STATION LACKED PROTECTION FROM VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ENTERING, CROSSING OR EXITING THE PAVED AREA OF THE MALL PLAZA.
