(A frame) Hand Hoist that was not equipped with approved counterweights
and not
secured to solid construction.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement are to:
1) Use counterweight
materials specified by the hoist manufacturer - Garlock Equipment Company.
2)  Secure the
hoist to solid construction as described in the operating instructions and
warnings section of the
Garlock Equipment Company 300 lbs (A frame) Hand Hoist owner's manual.
**In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is
required for this violation
(using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).**
