29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area and chemical-specific information was not always available through labels and material safety data sheets. Employees were exposed to chemical hazards associated with welding on stainless steel, welding gases and other hazards while engaged in hand welding and machine welding operations on mild steel and stainless steel. The employees had not been effectively trained on the hazards associated with weld fume and welding on stainless steel.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used: Employees were exposed to chemical hazards associated with welding on stainless steel, welding gases and other hazards while engaged in hand welding and machine welding operations on mild steel and stainless steel. The employees had not been trained on measures to protect themselves including work practices and personal protective equipment to be used.
