29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of Copper dusts and mists (as Cu) listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 1 mg/m3: (a) Location - Compound Room An employee manually adding copper powder to a vessel was exposed to 1.326 mg/m3 of copper dust. The Permissible Exposure limit as a eight-hour time-weighted average for copper dust is 1 mg/m3. The sampling was performed for 65 minutes during one work shft on 3/28/12, and the employee was exposed to over 1.3 times the permissible exposure level. Exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 415 minutes not sampled.
