29 CFR 1926.502(f)(1): The warning line shall be erected around all sides of the roof work area. a. On the west side of the Administrative Building roof where employees installed roofing material, the warning line was not installed around the entire roof in that there was a 4 foot, 5 inch opening in the warning kine thereby exposing employees to a 14'8" fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.502(f)(1)(i): When mechanical equipment is not being used, the warning line shall be erected not less than 6feet (1.8 m) from the roof edge. a. On the west side of the administrative roof where employees were installing roofing material, te employer installed the warning line 3'6" from the edge of the roof. b. On the east side of the administrative building where employees were installing roofing materials, the warning line was installed 5'4 inches from the edge of the roof.
