29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about June 1, 2012, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were exposed to injuries from falls in two areas: 1) An employee was working from atop the ridge beam with a fall potential of approximately 8-9 feet to the upper floor level 2) An employee was working at the edge of the upper floor level with a fall potential of approximately 20 feet. There was no fall protection implemented in either situation.
