29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floor(s) or platform(s) 4 feet or more above the adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded by standard railings (or the equivalent as specified in 29 CFR 1910.23(e)(3)(i) through (v)), on all open sides: (a) Western Foundries, 100 Martin St., Longmont, CO 80501: On and before October 31, 2012, the employer did not ensure that all open sides on the maintenance walkway near to the overhead sand elevator were adequately guarded. This exposes employees to a fall of approximately 13 feet. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
