29 CFR 1917.11(a): Active work areas were not kept free of equipment, materials, debris, protruding nails, and other sharp objects not necessary for the work in progress. a) Berth #1, Seagirt Marine Termial - During the unloading of containers from the MV Ever Decent, ground spotters working the number three crane hook were laying removed container twist locks on the ground, and were exposed to tripping hazards, as well as the twist locks being struck by 5th wheels using the truck lanes, causing the twist locks to become projectiles, on or about 11/14/12.
