29 CFR 1926.100(a):   Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets:  a)  122 Newman Ave., Bayonne, NJ.  Employee working underneath the roofers on the ground was exposed to head injuries from roofing materials and tools as the employer had not provided for hardhats to be worn.                                              Violation observed on or about 10/25/2012.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):  Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):  a)  122 Newman Ave., Bayonne, NJ.  Employees involved in re-roofing the steep sloped residential roof were exposed to falls of over 20 feet to the ground below as they were not using any means of fall protection.                                                         Violation observed on or about 10/25/2012.  RRC Home Improvement, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314678459 citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/24/2011 with respect to a workplace located at 410 Dye Avenue, Elmwood Park, NJ.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):  The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:  a)  122 Newman Ave., Bayonne, NJ and at the Corporate Offices at 51 Garden Street, Newark, NJ.  Workers engaged in residential re-roofing activities were not provided with a training program which would help workers identify and minimize fall hazards.                                                    Violation observed on or about 10/25/2012.  RRC Home Improvement, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312186091, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on 11/30/2008, with respect to a workplace located at 369 Woodland Road, Madison, NJ.

Employees were exposed to falls of up to 20 feet to the ground below as the ladders' side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the roof being accessed.
