29 CFR 1910.307(c)(2)(i) is applicable to employment by 29 CFR 1917.1(a)(2)(iv) that incorporates the General Industry requirement:     29 CFR 1910.307(c)(2)(i): Equipment in hazardous (classified) location(s) was not approved for the class of location:      (a)  On or about February 15, 2013, the inspection revealed that an extension cord was connected to the flexible cord of a sump pump without being sealed at the connection point to prevent the ingress of dust and without being supported by clamps or other suitable means to minimize the tension on the connections. The connection point between the two cords was located in the basement just above the boot pit at the Arlington grain terminal located at 1 Port Island in Arlington, Oregon.
