29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1): A written respiratory protection program that included the provisions in 29 CFR 1910.134(c)(1)(i) - (ix) with worksite specific procedures was not established and implemented for required respirator use: a) On or about March 13, 2013, and at times prior, the employer had not developed and implemented a written respiratory protection program as required and specifed by 1910.134 for employees in the carpentry area who were required to wear N95 face masks. A respiratory protection program includes the following elements, as applicable: 1) Procedures for selecting respiratory for use in the work place; 2) Medical evaluations of empoyees required to use respirators; 3) Fit testing procedures for tight fitting respirators; 4) Procedures for the proper use of respirators in routine and reasonably foreseable emergency situations; 5) Procedures to ensure adequate air quality, quanity, and allow of breathing air for supplied air respirators; 6) Training of employees in the proper use of respirators, including putting on and removing them, any limitations in their use, and their maintenance; 7) Procedures for regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
