29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): Work site located at the corner of Quarry Land and 214th Streets, Gretna, NE: An employee working on the top plate of an exterior wall was not protected from falls by some type of fall protection. This person was exposed to falls of over 11 feet. This item was abated during the inspection. No additional documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders shall be used only for the purpose for which they were designed. Work site located at the corner of Quarry Lane and 214th Streets, Gretna, NE: Two portable A-frame ladders were being used in a manner not consistent with the manufacturers labeling. The ladder labels indicate that the A-frame is not be straddled nor the top step to be used as a seat. In both cases, the frames had been straddled and an employee was sitting on the top step of the 2nd ladder. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
