OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employement and a place of employement which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to a struck-by and crushing hazard from the loose and damaged metal roof and support structure in the employee work areas outside:  On or about 8/21/13 in the outside production work areas; A) Employees working under the wood and metal canopies  located in the upper parking area were exposed to a struck-by and crushing because of the damaged metal roofing that was hanging overhead.  B) The shed located outside in the lower production areas were exposed to a struck-by and crushing hazard. The structure used by the employees had damaged and loose metal roofing hanging overhead while they worked. Also, the columns and support structures were damaged and not properly repaired.    Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement include, but not limited, to: Following the 2009 International Building Code requirement in section 1604 General Design Requirements and the state and local building official requirements.

The unguarded loading and scrap wood platform area near the web saw outside the main building measured at about 23 feet in length and 4 feet 6 inches from ground level.  2. The unguarded material staging area near the web saw outside the main building measured at about 10 feet 11 inches in length and 4 feet 6 inches from ground level.
