29 CFR 1910.95(k)(1): The employer did not train each employee who is exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). The employer did not institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program: On or about March 26, 2014: a) Truss Components of Atlanta, Inc., Conyers, GA - In the production area, an employee operating the web saw was exposed to a noise time-weighted average (TWA) of 91.2 dBA, exceeding the action level of 85 dBA. The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 474 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of six minutes. A training program was not established. b) Truss Components of Atlanta, Inc., Conyers, GA - In the production area, an employee building floor trusses was exposed to a projected noise time-weighted average (PTWA) of 90.0 dBA, exceeding the action level of 85 dBA. The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 474 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of six minutes. A training program was not established. Truss Components of Atlanta, Inc., Conyers, GA - In the production area, an employee catching wood from the chord saw was exposed to a projected noise time-weighted average (PTWA) of 88.6 dBA, exceeding the action level of 85 dBA. The exposure was obtained from a sample taken over 476 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of four minutes. A training program was not established.
