29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Construction site, Birches at Newtown roof - On or about July 18, 2013, employees installing roof sheathing were not using available fall protection systems to protect them from falling more than 6 feet. b) Construction site, Birches at Newtown 2nd floor common area - On or about July 18, 2013, employees standing on the top plate of the 2nd floor walls were not protected from falling more than 6 feet, while landing and installing trusses being hoisted by a crane. c) Construction site, Birches at Newtown roof of main dining room/theater - On or about July 18, 2013, An employee standing on a roof was not protected from falling more than 6 feet, while landing and installing trusses being hoisted by a crane.
