29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a). At the D.R. Horton developoment in the Rock Springs Ridge subdevision, employees installing roof shingles climbed thru the second story window and walked along the roof overhand of the single family home being constructed to gain access to the ladder exposing them to the 8-foot fall hazard of the open side of the roof overhang as observed on or about September 25, 2013.

Horton developoment in Rock Springs Ridge, Apopka, two employees installing shingles onto the 5:12 pitched roof were not using a conventional or alternative fall protection system to protect them from an 18-foot fall hazard as observed on or about September 25, 2013.
