29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) On or about October 24, 2013, and at times prior, John Crane Inc. did not ensure that compressed air used for cleaning purposes was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.. Employees in the repair shop were exposed to contact with compressed air hazards. Two compressed air nozzles used for cleaning purposes were found to be operating at pressures over 105 p.s.i. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").

29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace: a) On or about October 24, 2013, and at times prior, John Crane Inc. did not ensure that employees wearing respirators were provided with a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use such respirator. Employees in the repair shop were provided with 3M 6000 series half-face respirators prior to having the proper medical evaluation. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
