29 CFR 1910.138(a):General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. On or about January 19, 2024, in tear room, the employer had not assessed and provided appropriate hand protection for employees who used Safety?Kleen Premium Solvent (skin absorption hazard with central nervous system effects, skin burns and irritant, inhalation hazard, eye irritant) to hand clean parts and dies.

29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2):Portable extinguishers or hose used in lieu thereof under paragraph (d)(3) of this section shall be visually inspected monthly. On or about January 19, 2024, near the tear room, the employer did not ensure portable fire extinguisher(s) were visually inspected at least monthly, as employee were doing tearing operations.
