29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: Outside the Powder Coat booth an extension cord was used to servicing the scale. Temporary wiring was used in lieu of fixed wiring.

29 CFR 1910.307(c) Electrical equipment in hazardous (classified) locations was not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: Powder Coat booth area, a four plex outlet and extension cord servicing the scale were not intrinsically safe, approved for a Class II location, on or about 12/4/2013 and 12/11/2013. Kst test performed for the dust sample obtained from the Powder Coat Reclaim/Recovery area showed this material was a Class II dust. This also means the material is explosive. The Explosion Severity was 1.18 and the Hartmann Kst = 20.53.
