29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest system: a) On January 8, 2014, and times prior thereto, at the Ole Country Buffet restaurant jobsite in Savannah, GA, the employer failed to ensure that workers replacing tiles on a low-slope commercial roof were fall protected, exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 8 ft. 7 in. from the eave to the ground. Harbor Roofing Co., Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety & Health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314732397, citation number (1), item number (1), and affirmed on August 20, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at the corner of Brookpark Rd. and Ridge Rd., in Brooklyn, OH. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
