29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Line 8 Mondini Machine - An employee worked near the transition zone of two 12 inch wide conveyors where there was a 3/4 inch gap. A pinch point was created where the ingoing carrying strand met the non-powered rollers in the transition zone, thereby exposing the employee in the area to a hazard, observed on or about 1-30-14. Abatement certification is required.
