29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): 29 CFR1910.179 (j)(3) :The items listed in subparagraphs (j)(3)(i)(j)(3)(x) were not inspected for defects at intervals as defined in paragraph(j)(1)(ii) of this section or as specifically indicated, and all deficiencies were not carefully examined and a determination made as to whether they constituted a safety hazard. 1) Production Area - The employer had not conducted annual crane inspections on the Demag overhead 7 ½ ton, Street 10 ton gantry cranes and Jet and Coffin hoist 2 ton cranes that employees used on a daily basis to hoist steel. Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard.
