29 CFR 1915.504(b)(1): The employer did not post a fire watch during hot work operations when slag, weld splatter, or sparks might pass through an opening and caused a fire. a) Thames Shipyard North Yard - On or about 12-16-14 - the employer did not post a fire watch on the dock while burning operations were being conducted on the inside of the Ferry, Park City while an employee in aerial lift was painting the side of the vessel from the dock causing hot slag to start a fire on the floor of the aerial lift burning the employee.
