29 CFR 1915.73(d): When employees were exposed to unguarded edges of decks, platforms, flats, or similar flat surfaces, more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the edges were not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(j)(1) and (2): a) 1818 Brown Ave., Onboard Naval Vessel APL-50 At Lyon Shipyard, Norfolk, VA 23501: On or about December 16, 2014, and times prior thereto, the vessel was not equipped with a complete and adequate guardrail system, thus exposing employee(s) to fall hazards and injuries such as contusions, broken bones, lacerations, drowning, and death. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
