Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: a) On or about January 26, 2015 and times prior to that date, employees were exposed to "struck by" hazards from steel storage racks that did not have the base plates on storage rack columns anchored to the floor. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow the requirements of the owners manual which states that every column footplate of each pallet rack installation must be properly anchored to the floor.
