29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a.) On November 16, 2016, the employer did not assure the sides of the conveyor belt at the parts washer in the stamping department were guarded. An employee was injured when they were removing parts from the side of the conveyor belt and their glove got caught in the sprocket and pulled in resulting in an amputation.
