29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a- First Floor, Building A, 145 Cliffwood Avenue, Aberdeen NJ: A company employee was exposed to struck by hazards when operating an portable, electric grinder that was missing the abrasive grinding wheel guard. This employee had not received any instruction regarding the recognition and avoidance of unsafe handheld electrical equipment that was missing guarding prior to and at the time of the worksite inspection. Condition noted on or about 03/09/17. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
