29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. a) Salgau Roofing, Inc. on or about September 21, 2017 at the address of 6550 Corduroy Road, Oregon, OH: The employer did not ensure employees were protected from head injuries while working below employees conducting roof tear off operations. Due to this condition, employees were potentially exposed to impact injuries caused from falling material and/or equipment.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels are not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system or personal fall arrest systems. a) Salgau Roofing, Inc.: The employer does not ensure employees are protected from falls while conducting roof tear off operations to the residential type structure. This violation was most recently observed on or about September 21, 2017 at the address of 6550 Corduroy Road, Oregon, OH, 43616, when employees were exposed to a potential 11 foot fall to the level below. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that fall protection, such as guardrail systems, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems, is in place to protect employees from fall hazards when working above six feet in height.
