General-duty citation text
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards due to the use of improper rigging equipment during hoisting operations. On or about December 7, 2017, the employer failed to ensure employees were protected by ensuring equipment used as below the hook lifting devices was certified/rated as lifting equipment. An employee was utilizing a Harrington 5 ton Crane and "C" clamps to lift an approximately 1500 pound die to perform work on it.
