29 CFR 1926.701(b): Reinforcing steel. All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and into which employees could fall, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: location: throughout ground level on or about: 1/31/18 a) Employees were working beside approximately 100 unguarded rebar. NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection casefile, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19. The ASF Construction & Excavation Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.701(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1156975, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/21/17, with respect to a workplace located at 35 Valley Ave., Elmsford, NY 10523.
